Well, one thing is for sure! I didn’t let the fall pass me by this year! We have been to our favorite pumpkin patch, I’ve baked fall goodies and made my own fall decor, not to mention we just spent the weekend in what seemed like the mecca of ‘fallness’ in Michigan! I’m having an amazing autumn and I couldn’t be happier! Our little weekend in Michigan was the icing on the cake! Beautiful fall colors as far as the eye can see, crunchy leaves covering the ground, and a perfect crisp coolness to the air. Perfect!

We had our own little cozy cabin with 6 acres of woods and moss covered trails to traipse through behind it. I’m pretty sure the dogs thought they were at Disneyland! Wide open spaces and no leashes for 3 days straight?! They LOVED it! It’s safe to say they are now depressed that we are back home in the city with our teeny tiny yard. And now, I’m convinced we need to buy a cozy little cabin in Michigan one day…if only for the dogs!
I loved waking up to the leaves covering our porch every morning!
The colors were seriously out of this world!
Our little cabin at Sweethaven Resort! (Love this place! It is so perfectly nestled with the acres of woods surrounding the cabins. The couple who run the place are the nicest ever! And you can bring your dogs! Haven’t been there in almost 15 years, but it is still as adorable and cozy as I remember it from being there years ago with my family.)
My favorite chair in our cabin….it’s not like I’m preggo or anything. And my red wellies always waiting by the back door for another walk through the woods with the pups.
So glad I decided to throw my trusty Hunter rain boots in the car on our way out…not only for walking around the woods, but I also wore them to shoot Saturday’s wedding! That’s a first, but it was stormy weekend!
I honestly don’t think they have ever been happier! Maybe is by far the fastest, but Doppler likes to stick close to her, so he was always trying to keep up.
Walking off our straight from the oven cinnamon rolls, every morning. I wish every morning could start like this.
Finding treasures along the way…I told Katrina I wanted to collect all the little acorns, take them home, and paint them gold! She asked what was wrong with me…and really I didn’t have an answer, I just think everything is cuter when painted gold! Even nature apparently!
Trying to squish our faces into the same frame didn’t work out so well!
Oooh! Can I paint this gold too?!
The pups could explore these woods everyday and still not get enough of it!
In between rain drops, we played outside, from the tire swing to the trails! Clearly, my spouse is a pro…
Me? Not so much.
Hiding out at the top of a tree playhouse…
And taking a rest.
When we decided to test our the self timer on my camera….at least one of us is in focus!
After all that running and playing, these pups slept so good at night! It’s like kids at Disneyland, I tell ya! It was a beautiful thing!
One last attempt at a self timer family portrait before we left on Monday. The dogs were not a fan of having to sit still, but I felt like we needed to document our little family of four before we become a family of five! Everything is about to change! And I am so happy I made the time to enjoy the fall in my favorite ways with my favorite person. Our little time away in Michigan was just perfect, rainy days and all!
