In honor of celebrating, I am popping the bubbly today! My amazing spouse is moving to a normal 9-5, Monday through Friday, type shift today! I know that may seem inconsequential and a silly thing to celebrate. But in the midst of wedding season where I am working every single weekend and she is working ever single week night (when I am off), it makes date nights and general quality time a pretty impossible feat. It is a bit like ships passing in the night…except in our case, it is in the few hours of the morning we have before she goes off to work every afternoon. It definitely isn’t ideal. Trying to have good conversations about how our days were, when she gets home from work at midnight, while one or the both of us is falling asleep…not the best scenario for quality time.
I miss having quality time, I miss cooking dinners for two, I miss date nights that don’t consist of 1AM Walmart runs when she gets home from work at night, I miss having my favorite companion to accompany me to dinners and events during the week. So, today is like Christmas for me! I am getting my spouse back! On a normal schedule! One that will work for us, not against us. Bring on the date nights! I can’t wait!!!

(Photo thanks to my dear friend Emilia, who captured our silly kind of love in a Beloved session last weekend.)

YAY! That’s amazing! Your whole life is going to change. I’m so happy for you…and I love that picture.

Yay! That is fantastic! And that black dress is adorable.
Amanda!!! I want to pop a bubbly for you too…as someone who worked a third shift position, it should DEFINITELY be celebrated when you can change that!!! My entire life changed when that changed…congratulations to Katrina!!!
That’s great news – for both of you! Enjoy!
Oh that is a HUGE huge deal! (Coming from someone whose spouse also works odd hours now & then.) I’m so excited for you two! And that picture is ADORABLE.
awesome Amanda! New schedules can make all the difference and as Lauren said I bet it will be life changing. Emilia did a great job, you two look great! – Evan
