Fall Guilty Pleasures

I know, I know…everyone has probably had enough with my Fall pining as of late, but I just can’t get enough. With this perfect cool weather in Chicago, I am pulling out my boots and compiling every yummy fall crock pot recipe I can find! It is time, people! Whether you like it or not! And clearly, I am a little more than excited…so bear with me as I obsess over all things fall for a little longer.

Today, I wanted to share my Fall time guilty pleasures, in all their glory….

• Pumpkin and Woodsy Scented Candles – I once heard Tobi Tobin ( interior designer to the stars) say that everyone should have a ‘candle closet’. Initially, I thought, this lady is crazy…a closet JUST for your candles?! But, then I realized…I, in fact, already have a candle closet. Oops. You see I am a total candle hoarder….I almost buy them in bulk when I find scents that I love! Kobo is one of my absolute favorite high end candle brands, but in the interest of my bank account, I made a resolution to stop buying expensive candles a while back, seeing as I go through them so very quickly! So, now I am all about finding great candles at not so crazy prices! And where else does one look for such great finds at economical prices….Target, of course! Did you expect anything else, really? Two of my favorite fall candles from Target are the Home Scents Fireside candle and the Exotic Woods candle. Both smell like burning leaves, crisp autumn air, and everything fall! You can bet that once those babies hit stores, I will be stocking up again this year! 
• Ugg Boots – No need to give me the lecture on how not-cute Ugg Boots are, I totally get it! But I have to say…they are just SO comfy! So, worry not, I definitely don’t wear them out and about everywhere I go, but they make amazing house shoes/slippers in the fall and winter. I seriously live in these things whenever I am at home, and sometimes when I make a quick run to the grocery store, but that’s it, I promise! The nice thing for a klutz like me, who has lots of stairs in her house, is that they are a step up from wearing cozy socks around the house in that they have grip boot bottoms so I don’t tumble down the stairs. Bonus? I think so! (I actually get the ‘Ultimate’ Ugg Boots as they are a lot more grippy and durable on the bottom, but, be warned, that definitely doesn’t make them any cuter!) 
• My Mom’s Turkey Chili and Yummy Crock Pot Recipes – Get this, my spouse and I, both, hated Chili of any kind…until my mom’s turkey chili! It is THAT good! (My spouse is Picky with a capital P, people! So, that is saying something!) Whenever my mom makes a huge batch, we try to freeze some to save some of the yumminess for later, but it never lasts long! It is the perfect pre-made comforting dinner to come home to after a long cold day. So fulfilling and delicious. (I wish I had a recipe to share, but my mom is more of a ‘throw this and this together’ kind of lady.) When we arn’t scarfing down Mom’s turkey chili, I am always looking for new easy, gluten-free (for me), and Picky Katrina-friendly crock pot recipes to try. Last year’s favorite…Salsa Chicken! I may even make some this weekend…let’s kick Fall off with a crock pot bang! 
• Pumpkin Spice Latte’s – Need I say more?! (Just hold the whip cream, kay?)
