‘Halfway’

As a kid, whenever I was in the car with my grandparents, whether it be on a long trip to Wisonconsin Dells or just to a local restaurant for dinner, I would always ask that typical kid question, “Are we there yet?!” No matter if we had just pulled in to our destination or were in the middle of the highway, my grandfather would always give the same response, “Halfway!” And I would always laugh because I knew that 9 times out ot 10 we were no where close to halfway. I’m not sure it ever really mattered to me much, since I knew I would get the same answer everytime and eventually went back to occupying myself with a book or talking my gandparents’ ears off until we arrived at our destination.  But, for once it really matters to me if we are almost there yet…

As of this week, I am officially 20 weeks preggo! That is halfway! (For real, this time!) Halfway to our baby! Or really halfway to a delicious glass of wine in my hand! And since a good friend of mine called the other day and one of the first questions out of her mouth was, “Are you big?!”, I figured a requisite update photo was due! The answer…yes! I feel huge, but I guess that comes with the territory.

It is crazy to think we are halfway there. There is still so much to do! (And still so much time for me to get even bigger, gah!) But, I’m truckin’ along. And it’s all finally starting to feel real!

We had our 20 week ultrasound this week and, you guys, there is actually a baby in there!!! Our first very early ultrasound consisted of spotting a little blob on the screen that, to me, resembled nothing of a baby. But, not this time! This time, Baby Miller had lips, eyes, a little button nose, and arms that kept smacking me around from the inside. I’m pretty sure I could have laid there all day, just watching. Watching, in disbelief, that we are halfway! Halfway to that litte one being here.
