Indie Wed 2013!

Wow! Another absolutely amazing Indie Wed, in the bag! And there is so much Indie Wed 2013 goodness to share, today! They just keep raising the bar on the awesomeness they put out. I found it hard to stay put in one place when there was so much to see and do everywhere you turned. But, between friends, fellow vendors, present clients, and an endless stream of awesome newly engaged couples coming by, I was loving hanging out at my booth and chatting it up with everyone that came by!

Thanks to the amazing AMM Photography behind the scenes crew (who would only let the preggo carry a yard stick!), my booth was up and looking as sparkly as ever in no time! And I must admit that I am pretty smitten with it…I didn’t mind one bit that it had become a seemingly permanent fixture in our living room over the past month.

And it may have been cold and snowy outside, but, inside the Ravenswood Event Center, it was warm and full of all things weddings!  My kind of heaven!

The lovely Lynn from Pollen was my booth buddy, next to me, this year, which I was extra excited about because her florals are just gorgeous! And she even brought some beautiful Pollen goodness to my booth too! Love!

There were so many hand crafted goodies to scope out, not to mention beautiful paper goods by so many awesome people, like Courtney  Callahan Paper!

Let’s not forget the food! Delicious appetizers, scrumptious treats, yummy cocktails, you name it and it was there!

There was no lack for entertainment either! A full schedule of performers and bands kept the stage rocking all day. We, Unity Candle killed it during the afternoon!

Reenie Rose and Petal Play Design brought the awesome in their fabulous booth design!

Breathtaking jewelry and bridal accessories abound at Indie Wed!

Unique wedding details, like these handmade wedding books by The Binding Bee, could be found everywhere you looked!

Puffs of Doom? Yes, please!

I only stepped away from my booth for a little while, but it was long enough to say hi to some amazing vendor friends, old and new! Love the adorable Julia Franzosa Photography and Janelle of Re:Find Joy!

Oh, and I made some time to stop by and drool over Katie of Jayne Weddings unbelievable booth! Her booth shared with the awesome Aged Vintage Rentals, took my breath away! Katie always wows me with her work, but this was just amazing! I mean…gold spray painted fruit?! A girl after my own heart!

Of course there were gorgeous weddings gowns of every style and look to be found on fabulous models wandering the event space. These dresses by the always fab Mignonette Bridal were show-stoppers for sure!

Indie Wed guests chowed down on scrumptious food and mingled with vendors…

Prettiness could be found in every inch of the event center, especially at Kristine Aletha Weddings!

Makeup artist, Nika Vaughan, was on hand bringing the pretty and her amazing skills, as always!

Photobooths galore! (The Traveling Photo Booth)

Candy buffets?! You know it! (Fancy Candies)

Gorgeous tablescapes for those candy and treat buffets were not hard to find! Love this one by Nimble Well!

You couldn’t escape pretty florals at the show! LOVE! (We used to live near Anna Held and it was the spouse’s favorite spot to get me flowers from, so I was very excited to see them there!)

The gals of Toast and Jam DJs kept the party going to the very end! Love them!

And the Belles and Gents Lounge, by SQN Events and a long list of other stellar vendors, was the place to be at Indie Wed!

Truffle Truffle brought the lounge goodies for all to ogle and drool over!

Femme du Coupe was there, serving up delicious cocktails to everyone relaxing in the lounge…

Goose Island also kept the drinks and delectable bites coming for Indie Wed guests! Yum! I’m pretty sure they probably had to kick people out of the lounge at the end of the day, because who would want to leave this fantastic shindig in the lounge?!

It was such a whirlwind day of wedding goodness! I honestly feel so very lucky to be a part of such an amazing collaborative and creative community! Because the truth is I don’t just do Indie Wed to meet new clients…I do it to meet new vendors and friends too! I do it to collaborate and support the friends and vendors I love. Others might feel differently, but I firmly believe it isn’t just about getting your name out there to clients, it’s about reaching across the aisle to other folks who love what they do in this crazy wedding industry as much as you do. It’s about sharing your gifts, your talents, your crafts, and your passions. And using those passions to bring couple’s wedding day hopes and dreams to life. (Okay, so it is ALSO about having a really good time! How could you not at this event?!)

So, am I excited and hopeful that the emails from new couples I met at Indie Wed come rolling in? Heck yes! But, I’m also really excited about a brand new wedding season to work with some outstanding vendors and friends, old and new! And at the end of the day, I’m mostly excited that I get to do what I truly love! If Indie Wed is not a beautiful reminder of that, then I don’t know what is!
