Making a House a Home…Or At Least Getting There

While we are on this celebration streak of anniversaries, job goodness, and other wonderful things…we have, now, officially been in our home for a year! And it has been the fastest year of my life, at that! We bought and moved into our house a week before leaving for our European adventure last summer, swifty followed by our own wedding and my shooting weddings every other weekend. So, we didn’t exactly have the time to get settled in right away. Not to mention we went from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 5 bedroom house…talk about not having enough furniture to fill it! So, it is safe to say that it has been slow going getting this place together and we are a long ways away from it being ‘finished’.

There is still old wallpaper and window treatments to be removed, rooms to be repainted, some mismatched furniture in places, and a whole laundry list of things to be accomplished to really make this house into our home…but we are getting there. And since, I am celebrating the small victories in life, I couldn’t be more excited that, at least, some of the rooms in our home are really coming along. It isn’t easy (nor is it economically feasible!) to try to decorate and furnish 5+ rooms at once, but from a recent craigslist find of a vintage trunk for our front room to finding the perfect Crate and Barrel lamp for our den, slowly but surely we will make this house a home…our home.

Here is a little sneak peek of some of the more ‘finished rooms’ in the house. Our front room and my office are both so close to being complete…a few last things and I will definitely do a full reveal on the blog!
