Moving Meghan and Stephan’s wedding ceremony indoors because of rain wasn’t the ideal situation, but with an amazing team of vendors on board, the Lakeside Inn looked as beautiful as ever and I have to say that when Meghan and Stephan’s eyes met as she walked down the aisle, it all became so very perfect! Because, whether they married inside or outside, a little rain wasn’t going to deter this day, that was 10 years in the making! Everyone in the room could see that this union was meant to be and it was the most beautiful thing in the room. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

I feel so completely honored to have been a part of such a special union! Meghan and Stephan’s Michigan wedding day was overflowing with so much love, emotion, and meaningful tradition that I can’t even imagine that it could possibly be anymore special than it was! The love in the room was truly indescribable. And at the end of the night, I walked away with a happy tear in my eye (what’s new!?) and a heart so full I felt like it could burst!

The blessing and binding of the hands while their rings went around the room for all their loved one’s to bless was one of my favorite moments of the ceremony. The beautiful embroidered linen, or rushnyk, used to bind their hands and signify their newly forged union was made by Stephan’s mother!

So thankful for a break in the rain so we could capture some of that Michigan fall magic!

The Korovai blessing was another special Ukrainian tradition of the night. So rich with history and a beautifully intimate moment with Meghan and Stephan’s parents and grandmothers.

After their touching parent dances and a joyful first dance together, everyone was out of their seats for the Kolomyjka! Talk about impressive dancing skills! And it was such a joy to see every single guest involved in the fun and joy of their wedding day, from toddlers to grandmothers!
Congratulations Meghan & Stephan! May your lives always be filled with love like this!
