Okay, I bet you thought the only ‘shooting’ I did during WPPI was with my iphone, but I did actually manage to make it off the strip and put my real camera to use while in Las Vegas. On my last day in Vegas, I drove out to Red Rock with my friend Ryan of Ash & Ember for a couple of very fun sessions. The first of which was a fashion shoot with a gorgeous local model named Gina. Gina was all kinds of charm and sweetness, not to mention, fierce as can be in front of the camera!

I was kind of obsessed with Gina’s hat…but as hard as I try I just don’t think I can pull off such a fabulous look myself.

The view was pretty incredible and I am determined to get back there one day! We didn’t have the opportunity to go very far into the canyon and really explore, so it is now definitely on my bucket list to hike in Red Rock!

Loving the accessories…

These are my kind of hiking boots!

One of my favorites of the entire day! Love the perfectly pink lipstick!

Usually once the sun really sets and night begins to fall, you are done for the day, but we had so much fun shooting with Gina, that we decided to play around with some alternative lighting…

Can you guess what our ‘alternative lighting’ set up was?

A little late night fun using the headlights of Ryan’s Mini Cooper! It was just so fun to experiment and play around with light in a different way that we could hardly stop ourselves. (Lots of thanks to Gina for hanging out with us geeky photographers while we played with some light!) But, boy, am I glad we called the shoot when we did, because driving the 10+ miles out of Red Rock was a bit of a harrowing experience on the swervy pitch black one-lane road through the canyon! Totally worth it though!

I was going to say – I bet it’s headlights from a car! LOVE IT! The blue sky in the back is to die for in those pics! Great work!
xo!
These are so stunning!! I particularly love the ones with the hat. Just gorgeous work.
Haha, yup…headlights! It was definitely a challenge but fun to play with it!
