In the midst of my new camera high, I pushed this post to today, but it is definitely one that I don’t want to miss because yesterday was the one year anniversary of our wedding. Yes, yes, our official anniversary is June 2nd because that is when we were legally married, but August 21st was the anniversary of our wedding! It is a weekend I will never forget and one that I wish we could relive every year! I wonder if we could put a hold on that date with Salvage One every year for one big amazing party?! Seeing as that is not the best idea when it comes to not depleting our bank account yearly, I will just share some of my favorite moments of the day captured by the amazing Kari Bedford Photography. (Warning: I have A LOT of favorites, so settle in!)
If you want to see more of my mug and our wedding day, carry on!
Getting ready with my momma and my girls at The Elysian (now Waldorf Astoria).

I probably had the most fun ever hanging with these two girlies the night before the wedding in our big suite watching Keeping up with the Kardashians on 3 different televisions. (Don’t judge, it is the perfect show to have some cocktails with and ridicule together!)
Someone let Mom on the balcony, oh boy…
Meanwhile, here is my father working tirelessly to decorate the ceremony and reception space at Salvage One. Oh, and he was also the officiant! Talk about wearing a lot of hats on one day!
Katrina getting ready with her number one fan (and star of our wedding)…our niece Lilah.

I showed up just in time to get in some baby cuddles and get into my dress…

Katrina heading up to the roof to play while she waited for me to finish primping…
After the beyond adorable Katrina and Lilah show, it was time for the first look!
All was going well until this happened! My dress may have been stepped on and ripped! Okay, it definitely was, gah! Now, this isn’t the most flattering of photos, but I wanted to share it to show that things go wrong on your wedding day…and that is okay! Granted, I looked rather distressed in the moment, I basically shrugged it off and carried on. What can you do? I was still going to marry my love and have an amazing day! (And it wasn’t like my dress ripped open!)
See, mere seconds later and all is okay. Here is Katrina telling me how proud of me she is for not freaking out about the dress…no, really, she was in shock that I wasn’t losing my mind.
And really I was shocked too. But nothing could ruin this day for me.
This day was about us and our marriage. Not a dress. And all was good!
Not to mention, I had the absolute best makeup artist on hand, Nika Vaughan, who apparently moonlights as an emergency dress fixer! A few carefully hidden safety pins and the dress catastrophe was no longer!

Some finishing touches before the ceremony….

Including a little practice for our sandwich board girl! (The back said ‘About to be Married!’ to be flipped after the ceremony to say ‘Just Married!’)

Our wonderful wedding party of our favorite people before heading down to the ceremony!

This photo still makes me laugh. Struggling to get the sandwich board on our ‘sandwich board girl’, as people watched, thinking we were torturing her. Eventually, we just sent her down without it. Remember, things don’t always go as planned…and that is okay! It is much cuter to send a happy little girl down the aisle than a crying one! Besides, she stole the show just being her cute self!
The moment! Our perfect ceremony officiated by my father.
I honestly couldn’t have been happier! (What ripped dress?)
Lilah, stealing the show again, with her ribbons and ‘Just Married’ cans.
My pops was such a big big part in making our day come together…and we are so very thankful for all that he does for, every single day! And it warms my heart that he loves Katrina like his own daughter too!

Being silly after the ceremony! We did it!

Being introduced as ‘The Millers’!!!

Our bling…
This is Katrina’s mischievous face, she really wanted to smash some cake! But what you can’t see is my threatening face…and luckily, she played nice.
One of my favorite photos of the night! Since we only got a wedding cake (we had gelato carts for desert) because my grandma insisted, she had to get one of the first bites too!

After dancing with our fathers, it was time to party…
Photobooth fun!

It was one heck of a party, kids were dropping like flies!

I really wish the party could have gone all through the night, because it was so amazing to have all our friends and family around us to support and have fun with us! Cliche or not, it really was the best night of my life!
And at the end of the night, I got to take this one home with me! So, I would say the day was a total success!

After a busy week and a Saturday wedding this weekend, we plan on busting out the top of our wedding cake that has been in our freezer for the past year and celebrating! I can’t wait! (Since, I am pretty sure I only had one bite of it on our wedding day!)
Happy Wedding Day Anniversary my love! (Even if it is a day late, on the blog!)
