My amazing hair stylist, Laurie, has recently left the Northside of Chicago and come to land of suburbia, like we have and I am so happy to have her so close by! (Well, we actually still live IN Chicago, not the suburbs…but it sure does feel like it compared to our former bumpin’ Northside life!) And no, I am not just happy to have her close by, so I can have her make my hair look all kinds of fabulous at a moment’s notice! Laurie has been cutting and styling my hair ever since a very traumatic mushroom-like cut incident about 7 years ago by a former hair stylist. I went to her in desperate need of help and have been going back to her ever since. She saved me having to go into some major therapy after a truly awful awful haircut…it was so very bad, really! Since then, we have saved my hair from it’s trauma, we dyed it purple once(!), we braved cutting it short again together (and I have never looked back! I love it!!!), I have even been at her house many a mornings at ungodly earlyyyy hours so she could make me fabulous for some event or another, and she was there on my wedding day making sure my girls and I had flawless hair. So, over the years, Laurie has become more than my amazing hair stylist…she is a friend! And I couldn’t be more excited to actually have a friend who lives vaguely near us now! I am pretty sure some shopping and lunch dates need to be in our future!
So, while I was recently visiting Laurie’s new place and getting my hair all perfectly coiffed, she asked me to take senior photos of her rock star softball player sister. And, of course, I said yes! Though I worried about finding a pretty place for photos near our new neighborhoods, Laurie assured me they knew of some places. And, boy, did they! I am IN LOVE with this new gem of a spot they have shown me! I had so much fun exploring it for Courtney’s senior session with the both of them! (I just might need to get Laurie and her hubby back there for some photos too!) And we were blessed with some absolutely gorgeous light, so Courtney looked all perfectly fresh and glowy!

One of my favorites of the day! I just can’t get enough of that light!

Before calling it a night, Courtney threw on her softball jersey for some shots. She loves her softball number and won’t give her number 1 up for anything…even when being scouted by softball recruiters for other teams! Ha! No number 1, no dice, for this girl! So, of course, she had to show it off.

Holey moley, watch out for this girl on the field!

I can’t wait to see all the amazing places Courtney is going go, kicking butt and taking names on the softball field! Good luck, Courtney!

She is gorgeous! Love the glowy back light one. So pretty.
