Snippets and Snapshots: Wedding Season

I am really trying for that work life balance thing this summer, despite a crazy packed wedding season. Granted, sometimes it works, other times, not so much! But, I do know that come the fall things will slow down just enough for me to reconnect with all my loved ones again and make me time a priority. For now, here is a look at the whirlwind that has been my life thus far this summer!

1. One year wedding anniversary cards from some awesome friends and family! 2. Our spa anniversary day! Much needed, for sure! 3. A relaxed anniversary dinner, just perfect. 4. Maybe May, soaking up all the sunshine from out skylights. 5. A scrumptious hearty wedding day breakfast. 6. My wedding day cooler bag for all those hot summer days, lovingly packed by my amazing spouse. 7. Cooling off post engagement session with a frozen water bottle as an ice pack! 102 degrees out, whew! 8. A random day off for a zoo day with the cutest niece ever. 9. I love my city. 10. Rocking red for a colorful garden wedding. 11. New Wedding Shooting Shoes #1, Stuart Weitzman’s. 12. New Wedding Shooting Shoes #2 Cole Hann’s. 13. Planning out the new living room gallery wall. 14. A clean office…the first time since March! 15. Pretty garden roses in my favorite Kate Spade vase make my office so lovely to spend time in. 16. A glimpse into the front living room overhaul…it is almosttt there! (Blog coming soon!)

1. An epic backyard wedding…where the children spontaneously build teepee’s! Amazing! 2. Backyard wedding goodness. 3. The ending to the perfect backyard wedding. 4. Doppler slacking on the job, yet again. 5. Shampoo and conditioner for grey hair! Yes…it is time to do something about this salt and pepper thing I have going on. 6. Vintage baubles for a fun wedding. 7. A Sunday spent completely outdoors with corn on the cob and very happy puppies. 8. A bright blue sky at nearly 9pm, I love summer. 9. My favorite photo of my love as a child. 10. Wandering the Chicago Botanic Gardens before an afternoon tea reception. 11. A most perfect traditional English tea reception. 12. Can’t wait to plan a date night to the Chicago Botanic Gardens, it is oh-so-pretty there! 13. Awaiting the bride and groom to arrive at their reception at Fulton’s on the River via water taxi! 14. Closing out the night in such a gorgeous spot! 15. Engagement session hair and makeup. 16. An everyday routine…picking up my love at the train ‘Kiss ‘N Ride’ with the puppies in tow.

Granted, most of these snapshots may be work related and I may not have conquered the whole work-life balance thing lately, I am absolutely making an effort to try! And that is better than nothing, right? I sure hope so!
