Sometimes, when you are having one of those preggo induced cranky days, the only cure (since we know margaritas are not an option) is a day off with your best friend. Mine is all crazy busy and smart, off getting her PhD 2.5 hours outside of Chicago, so it isn’t too often that we get to spend the day together. But it just so happened that this weekend worked out perfectly for both of us to do just that when she was in town! We spent our day getting pampered with mani-pedi’s, drinking way too much Starbucks, and relating our lives to scenes from The Real Housewives far more than should really be acceptable.

(Photo by Kari Bedford Photography. I’m not sure what was so funny, but it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for us if it was absolutely nothing making us laugh so hard.)
With both of us in and out of grad school and super busy jobs at different times, it’s not since highschool have we ever really been the type of friends to talk everyday (I’m lucky if I talk to my own spouse everyday!), but that has never stopped us from picking up right where we left off since the last time we spoke or saw each other. We could go weeks without talking and you’d never know it! She is the friend I can truly vent to about everything and not think twice about it. She is the friend who makes me laugh harder than ever at absolutely nothing. And she is the friend who calls me on my crap and knows it’s out of love when I call her on hers. I’m pretty sure that is true friendship right there. And I am so grateful to have her in my life!
Our day of catching up, pampering, and girl talk was just what I needed to lift me out of my preggo blahs! Not to mention, she gave me a beautiful birthday present that I haven’t taken off in the past 3 days! Isn’t it so pretty?!

So, here’s to best friends! The kind that never quit. The kind who are always there. The kind who can get you out of your preggo funk in mere minutes! Thank you for the down time, Crys! I think it might be my turn to finally come visit you now, huh?

What fun times!! And I loove the necklace
I LOVE that necklace! It is so pretty! And yes…best friends make everything better.
Old friends are the best! I’m so excited for my high school girls to come visit in December! Also, love that necklace!!
Aaaand here come the tears…I swear I’m not pregnant too. Love you always!!
But it would be sooooo much fun if you were! Right?! Get on that, kay?
Aw, I hate you both! For making ME cry! Course, I’ve never had to be pregnant to cry at much. She IS the the most wonderful best friend in the world.
